Neighbors serving neighbors

This blog is about the fact that there are still good people in the world. Actually...these people can be considered GREAT people!

I was getting ready this morning and Allie was barking like crazy. She usually only barks if there is someone in "her" yard or if there are deer out the window. I kept checking the driveway to see if someone was here...no one...so I went to the window to see what she could see. There was a man in my front yard picking up trash. (Ben and I noticed a few weeks ago that there was a bit of trash in our front yard..."the pit"...and we never went out to take care of it) The man's wife was standing on the road waiting for him and he was climbing around picking up random pieces of trash that either blew into our yard or that were dumped there by some really nice people. So...I thought...I need to hurry so I can thank him. When I looked out again he was already gone. So I went downstairs to fill up my water bottle. When I glanced out the window again they were back...but they had their car this time and they were picking up the rest. I grabbed my stuff...but by the time I went out they were already gone. (Pretty quick) So, I did not get a chance to say thank you. I know what they look like because they walk by quite often. I really must say "Thank You" because that was very thoughtful.

I hope that if I noticed something like that in my neighborhood that I would help. I am very impressed by the service that they gave to me today. It made my day. Now I am going to have to pay it forward and help someone else out...

I have a bunch of leaves in my yard that need raked up. You know, in case you were looking for an opportunity of service and stuff.

I keed! I keed!

That's pretty cool about those people, brave enough to enter The Pit.
