Basement Remodel: Second Installment

It was a productive spring break for me. We primed the walls and painted the walls on Saturday. I am happy with the finished product. I have not taken pictures of the room...all by itself...but I will wait to do that until we put up the trim and paint a few more things with the trim color. We also have to work on both the window and the fireplace and the trim there. I am pretty excited about this fresh, "new", space to spend some time. We are not getting carpet right away and we are also going to wait on getting a couch. But...for now...it looks fun! The nieces and nephews had fun playing downstairs on Easter. We still have work to do...but for now here are the pictures of us painting.

Paint colored revealed. Ready or not...here comes the paint!

Me painting the wall. The first few swipes of paint go on.

A guest "PAINTER" travels many miles to help with the basement project. Great at "cutting in"

Ben...working hard. He had just laid tile at a friends house. When he got home he picked up a brush and got to work. Such a hard worker! I lucked out and did not have to do any taping or corners! It was a first! I was really excited! Thanks to Savannah, who stayed the weekend and helped us prime, paint and clean!

We finished just in time to have Easter over at our house this year. That post is coming!

I wasn't sure about the color when you initial posted a stripe of it, but seeing the color in all it's glory, I am liking it more and more. This room is going to be so cool when it's finished. You guys always had an eye for color and good design sense besides.

Are you going to redo the fireplace mantle? Mr. Recommendation did a killer job on mine...just pieced together with various types of crown molding. And mine was a "no frills" mantle.

Can't wait to see the finished product. (I still miss the orange couch. ~sniff~)
