Snow Day in Kansas City

It is snowing here in KC today. We went to bed last night to rain...a lot of rain actually and we woke up to a telephone call telling us that church was cancelled. We looked out the window and found about an inch of snow and huge flakes falling. The roads were pretty icy from the night of rain that we got and the snow is still coming down. The snow is worse just north of us in Platte City. So, we are home today. I have some time to blog, which is very nice.

Last week was crazy. I had enrollment conferences on Tuesday and Wednesday nights and then had a professional development day on Thursday (no students).
Valentine's day was spent at school, mostly. Ben had a card on the counter for me when I woke up and a balloon in my car. (Super sweet) We met up at the Holbrook's Thursday night to have dinner.

Friday I had off because I worked the two nights. We went to Columbia on Friday to watch Zach wrestle at state. We were there all day. We saw some pretty good matches. Unfortunately, Zach got out but he wrestled well. We drove home Friday night.

Saturday we each did some chores around the house. I cleaned up and made cookies, Ben worked in the garage. We ran some errands. Ben helped Kyle fix his car. Then we went to dinner at the Holbrook's. We ate Thai food (yum) and watched a movie.
Now, I am just watching the snow fall...I am worried that the power might go out because it is windy as well...and we live in an old neighborhood with large trees, not a good combination when there is wind and snow. I have tomorrow off school also, for President's day. I am looking forward to that.

Getting home Sunday morning was a real treat. Just imagine driving in one great, big slush puddle. Slush was caked on the PT by the time I got home.

Fortunately, I woke up that afternoon and it was all melted. I guess folks up North got it worse than in my area.
