End of Summer FUN

We have been busy. (Not complaining or bragging, just a statement of fact.)

So here is a review of our busy time...

End of July we went to Nauvoo with friends and with five young men from our church. We had a great time...camping, checking out the sites and SWEATING! It was HOT and HUMID. But, we had a good time.



Ben and I celebrated 9 years of LOVE on August 1st. We went on a date to a brazilian restaurant and took some pictures to document.



We bought ourselves our first vacuum of our marriage. (Wait, do not think we are gross, we have had two other vacuums, both were given to us though.) So we got the Dyson and I love it.



I turned 30! It was a pretty big deal! My sister and Ben planned a fun birthday party for me and invited friends and family. It was a huge success, cake, cupcakes, candy and a pinata! So much fun!



For my birthday lunch we went and met my brother in Kansas and had a nice lunch at Bravo. I got presents and we ate...ice cream cone cupcakes for dessert! YUM!



Kyleigh came to visit us in the middle of August. (She picked the worst weekend because our power was out most of the time she was here...two huge storms came through...one knocked a tree over onto our porch and house...it was exciting.)



I also had a shower for Savannah and Baby Orson while she was here...that had to be moved to my mom's house last minute...but it all worked out.



Lydia is just cute. I got some pictures of her being her cute self.



Labor Day...we went to Utah. We visited our friends the Holbrook's. They bought a house and had a baby in the last few months, so we needed to go and see them. (Sorry family in Utah for not telling you we were there, we were only there for four days and we were camping and busy, busy. Next time we will call and visit all of you!)

We went camping in the Unita Mountains. Lydia and I went to the same spot last year, same weekend. It was great to take Ben and be there as a family. The boys shot guns and arrows. The girls hung out with kids, gathered wood, made food, etc. It was a lot of fun. It got cold at night, but we were plenty warm all snuggled together as a family in our tiny tent.

(I know this one looks like a postcard...but I took it!!! :-)



Around the house lately: we got new carpet installed in the basement, we painted all of our door handles, we are installing a mow curb for the landscaping this weekend in the yard, and we finally mowed our lawn after a few months...long story! Autumn is here and we are excited! Evening bonfires, football season and maybe even the dirt track...
