Wisdom

Every once in a while it is good to be reminded that you do not know everything!

I am blessed with a mother who is very wise. When Lydia was born, I kept saying, "Well, once we get her on a schedule it will be breeze." (Or something along those lines...I had been reading many books and articles and I had a plan.) My wise mother would then say, "Yeah, she will be on a schedule for a few days and then it will change a little. You will think you have it figured out, but then things will change."

I thought to myself, "Maybe Mom, but Lydia will be different because I am her mom."

Over the last few weeks I have noticed that my mom was RIGHT! Lydia went three or four days like clockwork...waking up at nine, napping around 11:30 and at 3:00, it was great...but then it changed and she woke up at 8:00...that happened for a few days and then this morning it was different.

Lydia takes two naps a day, eats three solid meals and five or so nursing periods, but the timing is not clockwork. Once I think I have it figured out...it changes. I guess that is the spice of life!

I am grateful to my wise mother, who expresses her opinion and knowledge, but allows me to learn for myself. Thanks Mom!
