Brody and Me

I went to see the movie Marley & Me today. We read the book for Book Club this month. We are going to have Book Club on Wednesday night here at my house, so we thought it would be fun to go and see the movie together and then go and get something to eat. So, we did just that. The book made me cry and the movie made me cry.

I would consider our dogs to be well trained. They are spoiled, but they have manners and listen and are pretty obedient. Brody is the best. She went through obedience school and passed with flying colors. She knows her commands and she knows who the bosses are! Allie…she is another story. Brody has not been caged up for over two years. She can stay out while we are gone. She learned how to open our bedroom door about eight months ago…so she goes in there and crashes out on our bed…not my favorite thing, but oh well! She likes to lie in the sun during the day…and who knows what else she does??!! Ben and I would like to get a camera just to film what she does while we are gone. Allie has not graduated to being left out full time. We have tried a few times for short time increments, but she cannot handle it. She will destroy things that have been around the house for months. Or she will get something off of the counter or just find trouble. So, she still gets put away when we leave.

So, I came home from the movie, grateful for my dogs and thinking about how much I love them and that I am glad that they are pretty great dogs.

What did I find when I got home?

This:

Brody decided that she would help herself to some Girl Scout cookies. Savannah likes to keep food in her room (not a good idea) and Brody seems to know when she has left something out. She lets herself into her room and then brings it downstairs to enjoy. I cannot really blame her…the coconut, caramel goodness of these cookies is pretty irresistible…but Savannah is going to be mad. I had just cleaned the carpet and came home to a mess. I hope that Brody does not get sick. She knew that she was in big trouble. She would not even look at me for the first thirty minutes that I was home.

The joys of having dogs! I love them! I do not know what life would be like without them. January has been an especially interesting month with both of our dogs…but we love them so much!

Don't you love when that happens! Just when you start to think what great, well-behaved dogs you have...poof...they prove you wrong!! But we love them anyway!!

haha...I love your doggies too. They are so well behaved thanks to you and ben's hard work!

But...it is hard for a reasoning, adult human to resist the siren call of Caramel Delights! :) I am sypathetic to Brody!

I thought just kids wouldn't look at you when they knew they were in trouble. Sounds like you have a 2 year old in your house! LOL!
