Our stay at the Bailey camp out was short lived this year. It happened a few weekends ago (June 5-June 8). This year, they decided to camp at Ron and Paula's property near Osceola, Missouri. We got a late start on Friday night. We could not leave until Ben got off work. We drove down and watched the black clouds gather...not a good sign. It rained on us a bit. We missed our turn so we went a few miles in the wrong direction...but turned around and found the right road. We did not arrive until 9:30 p.m. or so...we sat around the fire and talked with everyone for a few hours. Then we went to bed. It was pretty wet and muddy...so we did not set up a tent. We just slept in our car. I fit perfect in the back of the SAAB...Ben was a little bit too tall. Saturday morning we woke up and had breakfast. Dan and Pattie made breakfast for everyone...french toast and bacon. It was yummy. We then discussed the plans for the day. Ben had to break it to his dad that we had to leave...Ben had to go to work and I needed the time to get ready for camp. We went and shot guns for a little while and then we headed home. Everyone else stayed longer...some went down on Thursday (the diehards) Ben worked until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday night and I used most of the day to complete work for girls camp.
It was pretty muddy at the "campsite"...there were raccoons...the place where the property is...is a little crazy. But we had a nice time as a family. I am always impressed with Ben's family because we ALL get together quite often...with eight siblings...and three of them married, one engaged and the other dating someone...and with the busy schedule of teenagers...everyone makes time to get together as a family. This happens more than once a year too. We all live in the area so it is easier to get together, but I like that family time is a priority in his family.

I am glad you had a good time. I would have slept in the car too.
Ahh, I miss camping.
The bigger question would be: did you stop by the Osceola cheese store for some free cheese?? It's required, ya know.
You and Ben will have to come over for grill out sometime and see what we've been doing to the house. Bring the girls and they can play with Hank and Sam!
Love you lots!
FUN! I am glad you guys made it to the annual campout! I agree, I think it is pretty cool that Ben's family has those traditions! Too bad you couldn't stay longer! :)...that and the weather...there is always next year right?!
