Monday was my last day of spring break. I decided that I needed to hang out with my friends for my final hurrah! So, I called up Liz, Leslie and Tara and we planned a girls lunch. We made a yummy salad (totaly chic food) and we were going to go on a walk but it was too windy and a bit chilly. It was great to have these three lovely ladies over. We had a lot of fun putting the salad together, talking and talking some more. It was a perfect afternoon! I was most excited to be surrounded by people whom I feel I really relate to and whom I really admire. There are qualities that each one of these ladies have...that I would also like to have. Their strengths seem to be my weaknesses and I enjoy talking with them...learning from them...and being around them. I really felt like myself on Monday. I was carefree and having fun! I sometimes forget to have those moments in my fast-paced, dedicated to teaching, too busy for fun life!
Who knows when this group of four will ever be together again. Tara is moving to Houston, Texas. Leslie is moving to Michigan. Liz is hopefully not going anywhere for awhile (but we all know that KC is not her favorite place to live) and the Bailey's will always be in Kansas City, I think. :-) It is hard to see people come and go in your life. But it amazes me the impact and influence that people can have on you when your paths cross...it is for that time that you really needed each other. I am grateful for my friendships and relationships that I have had throughout my short lifespan. I am the better for having known and having been acquainted with such great people in my life!

Glad you had a fun girls' lunch. We'll have to repeat it next week when I am in town! Will Tara still be around?
ahhh shucks...I agree with everything you said! Monday WAS such a great day! Thanks for including me! Don't forget that you often attract the kind of friends who reflect you! (so all those nice things you said....right back at ya babe!) ps the salad was AMAZING!
Hurray! I have been excepted into the Frau Bailey Fan Club! My life is complete.
Maggie...I totally love you too! I too am so thankful to have friends who lift me up and always encourage me to do and be better. Thank you for the opportunity to be counted as your friend!
