O Tannenbaum

O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum!
Wie grün sind deine Blätter...

Well, we went and got our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving this year. We went with some great friends the Jamiesons. It is a tradition for us to go to a tree farm every year and cut down our own tree. We have done this since our first Christmas together and we hope to continue this tradition. We really enjoy the smell and the expierence of the REAL tree. This was also a special occasion because it was the Jamieson's first Christmas tree ever and they have been married for seven years. So, we were all really excited.

We introduced them to the tree farm experience. The reindeer, the hot chocolate, the popcorn, the hayride, the hunting for the perfect tree, the cutting down, and of course pictures with Santa. (Not for us but for their children.)

I have to admit though, last year we got a tree that the tree farm ships in from Minnesota and they are really pretty, so I got another one of those this year. I figure when we have children then we will cut down a tree but I really like the look for the foreign tree--I guess it is my foreign taste or something.
This is the tree, it looks a little crazy in the picture, but it looks really nice in the house with the lights and everything. I will take pictures later.

So, the Christmas season has officially started at the Bailey house. We put up the lights, I put up the garland and wreaths and I even got out the Christmas candle. This year has really flown by. I cannot believe that December starts this weekend! Ahhh!! Where does the time go? But for now, I am excited to enjoy this holiday season. With each whiff of evergreen...

I miss Christmas Caroling! The best carols were the ones we made up in the car on the way to do the caroling! You are fun, and I can't wait to come over and see your tree!
