Easy as Apple Pie

I made my second apple pie of my life on Thanksgiving day. The first time, I was under the close supervision of Ben's mom. She taught me all her tricks and how to measure a "handful" of sugar. (It is fun cooking that way!) So, this year I volunteered to make an apple pie for Thanksgiving. I was a little unsure of myself at first, but once I got going it was a lot of fun and actually pretty easy! There are a few steps involved and I had to re-roll my dough out a few times but it went pretty well and it tasted outstanding! It is too bad that more people do not bake homemade pies. Now that I know I can make it myself, I will not have to buy one! I look forward to the chance to make another one. Maybe next year???
