August 2, 2014...I turned 33. My birthday was on a Saturday so I felt like everyone was taking the day off to celebrate with me!

If you know me well, then you know that I love birthdays! I love celebrating (a lot). I love getting older. I love cake and ice cream and all the things that go with birthdays...including presents.

My day started with a breakfast date with friends! I love that I have friends that were able to get together to celebrate with me. We ate at Cascone's Grill North (open for breakfast and lunch off of 64th street...not Italian.) It was nice to eat, talk and laugh together.

Kathryn and I went and did a little shopping...which is always nice without kids. On our way home we bought Ben some lunch.

Lydia and I went swimming in the afternoon. The water was a little chilly, but the sun was warm so we had fun swimming around and I just relaxed in the pool. Avery eventually joined us for a swim.

We went had a little family celebration at my parents house. My dad made homemade pizza. I opened some presents. We had birthday cake and Kathryn bought me my favorite ice cream...Mint Chocolate Chip from Baskin Robbins. It was a lovely day of celebration.

Ben gave me this duvet cover...it has a map of the world on it. I love it!
