Georgia...on my mind

A few months ago, I was looking for plane tickets to go and see my friend Kyleigh, she had back surgery in April. I really wanted to be there for her, to help her and to love on the baby boy she had in September. Ticket prices were just a bit too high, plus she lives three hours from the airport, so that adds an additional fee onto the price.
I started to research the cost of driving, did the gas calculations, lodging and food...and decided that driving with my girls would be cheaper than flying. It is only 15 hours to where Kyleigh and her family live in Georgia, so I decided I would drive. I wasn't completely confident that I could do the drive alone, so I recruited my mom. She has friends in Atlanta, so we drove together to share the driving and catering to the needs of the children. I dropped her off for the week in Atlanta and the girls and I drove the rest of the way to Dublin, Georgia. The drive was uneventful and went really well. We borrowed my sister Kathryn's car with a DVD system and we were good to go. We stopped in Chattanooga Tennessee on the way out and in Paducah, Kentucky on the way home. Lydia loved staying in the hotels...because there was a fridge in our room! We also went swimming to get some energy out and the girls jumped on the beds.

Spending time with Kyleigh, Bryan and Levi was a lot of fun. Levi is 9 months old, crawling and exploring his world around him. He smiles a lot. He is content. He is adorable! We also went swimming, played in the sprinkler, gathered pine cones, went to the park, Kyleigh and I went to a movie, and we had a fish fry...yum. Dublin, Georgia is a small city, but it is a really pretty part of Georgia and I loved smelling the pine trees and the quietness and beauty of where they live. Kyleigh and I spent a lot of time just talking...it was much needed friend time! Ben was at scout camp the entire week we were gone, so while he was busy, we were busy. It was a great way to spend the week.
