Day for Dad

June 2014

June 2014

We raced home on Sunday, June 15th from Paducah Kentucky to be with Ben on Father's Day. Us coming home from a week long trip was a grand present for Ben. The girls were so excited to see their dad. He made them laugh, he tickled them, he chased them, he screamed with them and listened to their stories. The girls gave him a camping mat, wrapped in a blanket.

Before we left, I wrote Ben some letters for him to read while we were away. I saw this idea on Pinterest and thought it would be cute to do. The letters said...Open when... and then there were different topics. Open when you miss your girls. Open when you are bored. Open just for fun. Etc. I have done this before when I have left for trips (three weeks in Germany...presents and letters for everyday that I am gone). I enjoy putting stuff like this together. So, I counted this as part of his Father's Day present.

I have always known that Ben would be a great father. When we were first dating, Ben was coaching youth wrestling. We often communicated via email and he would type me stories about the youth he coached, they were hilarious and I could tell that he really cared about the boys he coached. I also learned early on in our relationship that he is a natural teacher. He encourages, he is patient and he teaches by example and helps others learn by doing. My girls are lucky to have Ben as their dad. He is always teaching them new things and he lets them help him while he is doing projects. Ben loves to expose the girls to new things and places. Ben often does things that are out of my comfort zone, but the girls always love it! I have decided that is one of the reasons that children have a mom and dad. Dad's are around to push the limits and expose them to fun and excitement, along with teaching them other things. Ben can make my girls laugh so loud and smile so big. Ben loves his girls and his girls love him! My girls are lucky to have such a great man to call dad.
