friends

Sometimes in life you meet people and you know that they will be lifelong friends. I love people like that and I have had the opportunity to meet more than one of those kind of people. I have met friends along the way that I am sure I knew in a previous life. We just connected and were immediate friends. I have one friend that I did not know very well and we planned a trip for a month to Europe together and we survived. We came out of the trip as really good friends. I have a friend that has been my friend since 7th grade. Granted, our relationship started out a little rocky because I didn't think that she liked me. But, we became great friends and there were weeks during our school years that we spent everyday including weekends together. We went to college in different states but we remained friends. We both got married in 2002 a month apart from each other and now our husbands are great friends. They call each other and hang out even when we are not around. We both bought houses in 2004. My other friend that I am sure I knew before is one of the coolest people I know. I met her at a summer camp and we have been friends ever since. She is two years younger than I am and she thought I was just being nice by hanging out with her, but I really liked her and thought she was awesome. Slowly I assured her that I was her real friend and our friendship is something that I really love!
I also have three great siblings that are my really good friends. I can call them and chat about anything. They would stop what they are doing at any moment if I needed them. We were not always friends when we were growing up but now we are all really good friends. I remember the day my brother said to me, "Marge, you are a really cool person. How come we didn't hang out before?" This was when we were going to community college together. (I think I can answer his question now by saying that he was too busy teasing me and making me cry to really get to know me) But, now we are great friends and we talk all the time. I cherish the friendship that I have with my sisters. We can talk about anything and help each other.
My parents are also a great example to me of true friendship. They love being together and spending time together. They have seperate interests but they spend quality time together. I am also really great friends with my parents. They are always there to answer my questions and help me through problems! I love them very much!
Last but not least! My other friend is my husband. I love him and I can talk to him about anything. He is always willing to help me when I have concerns and he is so level headed that when I am freaking out about something he is there to bring me back down and tell me to cool my jets. He is awesome. I was away from him for three weeks this summer and I really missed talking to him. I didn't really realize how much I love and look forward to talking to him. We are best friends and I absolutly love that part of our relationship.
Basically, I think that friendships are very important! Everybody needs a little help from their friends sometimes! So, this is my ode to my "best friends!"

I am truely grateful that I was included in your list of friends. I knew what a cool person you were before your siblings did.

Love you lots.
